Photo Friday--Macro Lens
There are only two more Fridays left in the school year until summer break. . .I am so ready! Caden and I are planning on spending most of the summer in our favorite park wearing off two-year-old boy energy. Here are a few photos I took today in the park. It was the first time I had time to play with the macro lens on my own; thus far, I have only helped students in the classroom studio with their own photographs. I love the macro lens! At first, it was difficult to focus, but became easier as I practiced. I will post more photos throughout the week. As always, critiques are welcomed and encouraged.

Here are a few photos I took at Aaron Reed and Zeb Andrews' workshop. I fell in love with Portland. There are SO many things to photograph; I want to go back this summer. . .12 more school days until summer! Please feel free to critique.

Sweet Shot Saturday
Today, I took my Advanced Digital Photography students to Portland to attend a workshop hosted by Aaron Reed (http://www.aaronreedphotography.com/c/aaronreedphotography) and Zeb Andrews (http://zebandrewsphotography.com/). If you enjoy photography, I definitely recommend attending one of their workshops--they did an AWESOME job with my students.
This is one of my favorite shots from the field trip. I took it in the first 15 minutes or so of our field trip. After I took this shot, I said I was "done for the day" because I knew I probably would not take too many more shots that I loved more than this. I will post more photos from the field trip throughout the week.
Critiques are always welcomed and encouraged.

Photo Friday--One Day Early!
On Saturday, I am taking my advanced digital photography students to Portland for a workshop hosted by Aaron Reed (http://www.aaronreedphotography,com.) and Zeb Andrews (http://zebandrewsphotography.com) (I can not wait--I am so excited!). Therefore, tomorrow night, I will probably be getting ready for the field trip so I decided to post Photo Friday early.
For this week's photo, I chose a photo from my prom shoot. Overall, I really like this photo. I especially like that the focal point is the male's corsage. The only thing that really bothers me is that I would like to see the rest of the tie; I wish I would not have cut it off. Critiques are always welcomed and encouraged.
I hope that next week I have an awesome photo from our Portland field trip!

Photo Friday
This weekend, I had the opportunity to shoot two photo shoots. The first photo shoot was for a friend's daughter who needed a photo for an upcoming pageant. The second photo shoot was for a friend's daughter's senior prom. Here are a few of my favorite photos from those shoots. As always, critiques are welcomed and encouraged.

Photo Friday--Two Days Late!
It took everything in me not to post this photo on Friday. Instead of posting a different photo, I decided to wait until Sunday. . .after my Mom and Mother-in-Law received their Mother's Day gifts.
I have always loved Kim Anderson's photos. When I was taking a photography class in college, I was told Anderson's photos were not "art." Anyway, when I was trying to think of a Mother's Day gift idea for our Moms, Anderson's photos came to mind. My brother and I took Caden to the park with a bouquet of Gerber daisies and let him play. There is no point in trying to pose an almost two-year-old, so I just gave him the flowers, snapped photos, and hoped for at least one good photo. Luckily, grandmas aren't too picky! Critiques are always encouraged and welcomed!
Happy Mother's Day!
