Easter Tulip

Lately, I have been busy taking and editing newborn photographs, head shots, etc. I will share some of those photos soon.

We have had a couple of nice "park days" and this photograph was taken on the way to the park.  I love its composition.  Critiques are always welcome.

Easter Egg Mail

On Pinterest, I learned that you can mail almost anything if it is under 13 ounces.  For Easter, we sent my niece a giant Easter egg filled with goodies.  Since she is only one, it was difficult to find age-appropriate toys to fill it with.  We sent her a piece of sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a light up ball, and some stylish pink zebra print sunglasses.

Have I told you how much I love Pinterest?!

Cousin Brody

Cousin Brody lives on the Oregon Coast, so we are not able to see him very often.  He stayed with my parents Easter weekend and we enjoyed visiting with him.  Here are a few of my favorite photos from our visit:

We think cousin Brody is pretty cute!

Only three weeks apart!

Caden is so good with Brody and Carter!

Brody and Carter hugged and kissed each other. . .it was so cute!

Jesus and His Amazing Super Powers

We had another busy but fun Easter.  The boys went on three Easter egg hunts. . .yes, THREE! They started with an Easter egg hunt at our house.  The Easter Bunny left Caden a note that told him that the yellow eggs were for Carter, but he could have the rest. . .the first egg Carter found was purple.  Caden quickly reminded him that his color was yellow!

After they found all of the eggs at our house, they visited with cousin Brody, ate Easter dinner, and went on an Easter egg hunt at my parents' house.  Before the day was over, they ate dessert and went on one last Easter egg hunt at Colby's aunt's with Grandma Odie.  They found all 28 eggs!

Even though much of our Easter was spent hunting for eggs, Caden is beginning to understand the true meaning of Easter.  If you ask him, he will tell you something like this:

"The soldiers killed Jesus.  And he died! That was not good! The soldiers put him in a tomb.  When the lady came to the tomb, the rock was rolled away and it was empty.  Jesus has amazing super powers!"

Got to love Jesus and his amazing super powers!

Photo Friday: "Sashi"

This has been a tough week for our family.  Our family dog, Sasha (nicknamed "Sashi" by Caden), became very ill and had to be put down.  It happened so quickly and took us all by surprise.  Caden is having a difficult time processing Sasha's death:

Monday

Mom:  "Caden, Sashi is very sick.  She has to go to the doctor and I don't know if she's going to get better."
Caden:  "That's okay.  We can get a new dog."

Tuesday

Nana:  "Sasha went to be with Jesus."
Caden:  "Nan, Jesus is in the Bible!"

Wednesday

Caden:  "Mom, Sashi died."
Mom:  "I know.  I am so sorry."
Caden:  "She's in the Bible now."
Mom:  "I think Sashi's in heaven."
Caden:  "I don't want to go to heaven.  I don't want Mommy to go to heaven. I don't want Daddy to go to heaven."

Thursday

Caden:  "Mom, I miss Sashi."
Mom:  "I know Caden.  I do too."
Caden:  "Maybe we can get a new dog."
Mom:  "I don't think we're going to get a new dog."
Caden: "Just think about it.  Please! Just think about it!"

Sashi was a good dog and we miss her very much.  This is my favorite photo of her.
