Humbled, Again!

Caden's preschool sometimes posts funny quotes from preschoolers on its Facebook page. This week's post was about a four-year-old boy who was staring off into space. When the teacher asked him if he was okay and asked him what he was thinking about, the little boy replied, "I was just thinking. It's been weeks since I have gotten a good night's sleep." My first thought was, "Oh, no! That's the boy who is going to sleep his way through high school."

Later that night, while tucking Caden in, he told Colby and me that he fell asleep on the snack table at school and his friend had to wake him up. Immediately, I started cracking up because I had a gut feeling that it was my son who told the teacher that he has not had a good night's sleep in weeks. After a quick e-mail, I found out that it was my son's quote.

It is my son--the teacher's son--who is going to be sleeping his way through high school. . .

This is not the first time I have been humbled as a parent. . .and I'm sure it will not be my last. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get much sympathy from my own mom!

Preschool Vacation

This boy. . .

"graduated" from his first year of preschool! This is what his teacher had to say about him. . .

We could not be prouder of him! He attended his last day in style. . .wearing his pajamas and Optimus Prime helmet.

According to him, he is now on "preschool vacation"!

Optimus Prime Is Going to Pre-school!

Our little Optimus Prime was accepted into pre-school.  (Thank goodness! I don't feel like filling out another 10+ page application or paying another non-refundable registration/supply fee.) Caden is ecstatic to begin pre-school.  When I told him he was accepted he said, "Okay, I'll leave in about an hour." He picked out a Spiderman backpack today and wore it around the house all afternoon.  He is waiting patiently for September!

If you push Caden's chest he will say, "I am Optimus Prime!" (If he's in the mood of course!)

ScaRy DiNosAur!

Two Sundays ago, Caden moved from the toddler room to the preschool room at church.  I am so glad he made the switch.  The activities in the preschool room are much more appropriate for him.  The preschool room has a train table, so Caden was more than excited to make the switch.

The first Sunday, when we picked him up, he was chasing two little girls away from the train table by being a "scary dinosaur." When I picked him up, he couldn't stop laughing, "Mom, scary dinosaur makes girls run!"

And the "girl chasing" begins. . .

Preschool from Hell

Tonight, I decided to start researching preschools in our area.  This was the first preschool review I read. . .no joke! (Naughty words were edited. . .)

"Take your kids somewhere else. This place is HELL for kids. These kids scream like f*%#$*! maniacs. It's like they're being severely beaten and scream EVERY day from morning to evening to make it stop. But it never stops. Think of yourself in this environment each day of your life. Not pleasant, you say? Is this a place your child would feel safe? Save your kid the trauma, try a day care that looks after your child rather than introduce your child to a filthy dog kennel to scream with the rest of the mutts. What the f@$% else do they do with their day? I can't imagine any learning or healthy play is happening with the voice boxes of these children diddling away. I live two blocks away and ACROSS C. Rd. (a very busy and loud street) and I still hear those hyenas loud and clear. This is not a healthy environment. If you don't want maniacs for kids, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THE (apparently the preschool from hell. . .)."

I guess I will keep looking. . .
