Boys and Their Wrestling

I grew up with four younger brothers and remember them wrestling almost daily.  Usually, when my mom would tell them to knock if off, one of them would yell, "Dad started it!"

I see many more years of wrestling in my future. . .

Crawl Carter Crawl!

Caden did not crawl until he was almost nine-months-old.  Carter just turned six-months-old and something tells me we are going to be chasing him A LOT sooner.

I can get up on my hands and knees pretty easily now.
I am trying to "bear crawl."
I get a little angry when I can't figure out what to do next.

Our "Cart"!

SIX-MONTHS-OLD!
nicknamed "Cart" by Caden
reaches for his people*gives hugs and slobbery kisses
pulls Caden's hair and laughs out loud!*pinches Caden and laughs out loud!
wants to play with whatever Caden is playing with
becomes frustrated because he can not keep up with Caden
tries to eat everything we are eating
eats rice cereal and veggies (not too happy about it--wants real food)
sits up for a few seconds*prefers to practice standing, jumping, and taking steps
"swims" and scoots across floor*wants to crawl
growing too quickly!

Swinging for the first time!

can not believe you have been in our family for six months
can not imagine life without you
so glad God gave us YOU!

A Three-Year-Old's Interpretation of "Noah's Ark"

This boy is growing up way too quickly.  I have not written a post about the things he can do lately.  I think the main reason is because it would be easier to write a post about the things he can not do--just ask him!  In fact, when we try to do something for him, he says, "I can do it myself.  Did you forget?!" This boy is a sponge; he picks up language, songs, and stories so easily.  This week, at preschool, he learned about "Noah's Ark."  His version goes something like this:

"There were people.  And they loved money.  They didn't love God.  That's not good! Noah built an ark.  An ark is a big boat.  The animals got on the ark two-by-two.  It rained and rained and rained.  Noah sent out a bird.  It brought back a branch.  There was a rainbow.  And Noah had a promise for the people.  He promised he would never flood the 'erf' (earth) again."

You try to tell him that God had a promise for the people and not Noah! He knows EVERYTHING!

Patiently waiting for Nana & Papa

Or. . .maybe he just takes after his "Uncka"; his Uncka's version of "Noah's Ark" includes dinosaurs.

Winter in the Park

Today, we "someone" needed to get out of the house.  "Someone" called Nana and Papa and invited them to the park.  It was a beautiful day--51 degrees and sunny.  Both boys enjoyed our outing; Caden mostly played in the sand and Carter "played" at the park for the first time.  Here are a few of my favorite photos from our fun day:
