I am so glad it is Friday. We have twenty-five days of school left, but who is counting?! I can not decide if I like this photo or not. I love the narrow depth and desaturation, but something seems off. I wish "Crayola" was turned more to the camera, but it is impossible to pose a 21-month-old so I just let him do what he wants and snap photos. How do you think this photo could be improved? Please critique!

Photo Friday
I promised to not always post photos of Caden for Photo Friday, but I could not help myself this week. I took this photo of Caden last night at Papa's Pizza and LOVE the natural lighting. He was admiring the big boys playing hoops--so cute! Critiques are always welcomed and encouraged.

Confessions of a Working Mom: Confession #2
There are numerous controversial issues surrounding parenting; one of them being letting your kids sleep with you. I confess. . .if Caden makes a peep during the night, I let him sleep with us. I let him sleep with us not only because I miss him during the day, but I teach high school students and I know that in twelve short years (or maybe even sooner) he will be embarrassed to be in the same room as me. I want to sneak as many cuddles in as I can before then.

Mommy and Son Outings: Build-A-Bear
Today, I was trying to think of something fun to do with Caden. Colby suggested Build-A-Bear. We invited Nana to go with us since Colby had to work today. Like I said before, Caden knows exactly what he wants these days and he did not want to "build-a-bear." He liked watching the flying stuffing, pushing the sound buttons, and playing with the computer while attempting to create a birth certificate for his bear. We thought that since he liked pushing the sounds, he would like a bear that made a sound. We were wrong! Not only was Caden afraid of the machine that stuffed his bear, he was afraid of his Jonas Brothers singing bear! Caden was dancing to the Jonas Brothers song until it was put into his bear. . .I should have known. . .he got a singing bee for Valentine's Day and it scared him to death. . .

Mommy and Son Outings: Papa's Pizza
Thursday night, I decided to take Caden to Papa's Pizza for dinner because I got home late from work. Caden knows exactly what he wants and does not want these days. When I was going through the salad bar, he told me what to get, "Noodles, peas, salad." After we ate our salad and pizza, we played in the play area which he has never played in before. He especially loved the balls. When we left he said, "Bye, balls!" I love that Caden is getting so easy to take places. He will be so much fun this summer!

Photo Friday
I took this photo today on my way home from work. This sign always cracks me up. How many other streets could this not be?! My guess is that Google Maps says this is Texas Street. I like the contrast in this photo, but am not 100% satisfied with its composition and focal point. Critiques are welcomed and encouraged.

Thankful Thursday
This week I am thankful for the following:
1) I am thankful we do not owe taxes.
2) I am thankful we did not have to pay "J.H." a ridiculous amount of money to get our taxes done.
3) I am thankful we do not owe taxes.
4) I am thankful we were able to get last year's taxes amended.
5) Did I mention, we do not owe taxes?!

Confessions of a Working Mom: Confession #1
I am more than addicted to Diet Pepsi; it is my fuel. I drink no less than 36 ounces of Diet Pepsi every day. This sounds like a lot, but I have actually cut back A LOT; I used to drink over 100 ounces every day. I went nine months without it when I was pregnant with Caden. I know it is not healthy for me, however, I went without it for two days last week and I felt like a walking zombie.
P.S. The pop can Caden found was not opened yet, so please do not send me messages about why a one-year-old should not drink Diet Pepsi : ).

From the Mouth of a One-Year-Old
This morning, when I heard Caden wake up, I tried to roll over and ignore him to see if he would go back to sleep. He crawled over me and said, "I see you Mom!"
Today, Caden looked into the toilet and said, "Eww sick!" I guess it is time to clean the toilet. However, a dirty toilet may keep a one-year-old from playing in it. . .probably not though. . .I better clean it : (.

Photo Friday
This photo was taken last November at the pumpkin patch. I chose this photo for Photo Friday because it was the first time I desaturated a photo (50%) and added my signature to a photo. Not all photos look good desaturated. I think it works for this photo. What do you think? Also, what do you think about my signature? I wanted it to be simple and not take away from the photograph. Critiques are always welcomed and encouraged.
Confessions of a Working Mom: Introduction
I love reading "Mommy Blogs," but most of the Blogs I have found are stay at home moms. Even though I like many of their Blogs, I am interested in connecting with other working moms (outside of the home). I would like to know how other working moms face the challenges of balancing work and family life. Please let me know if you know of a working mom Blog that you think I would enjoy; it would be much appreciated!

Photo Friday
Happy Good Friday! I am so glad it is Friday--this is the first weekend that Colby and I will have been off together in weeks months forever!
I chose the following photo for Photo Friday for three reasons:
1) I am obsessed with taking photos of feet. . .especially baby big boy feet.
2) I love the way it turned out.
3) It is the first time I used Poladroid (http://www.poladroid.net/). Poladroid turns any photo into a polaroid for FREE and it is extremely easy to use!
Critiques are always welcomed and encouraged.
